I almost hate posting this because of the shear amount of speculation over the years, but I just saw that a well known retail store listed it for Pre-Sale with a release date of January 2, 2007.

This might actually be the real thing this time around and I’m looking forward to FINALLY being able to play an amazing version of one of my all time favorite games!
Please post something if you have any other details on a release date…

Hardware: I’d imagine that if they include everything that’s been discussed, you’ll need a high-end machine or laptop.  My guess for min specs would be: P4 2.8, 1 gig memory, and an ATI or Nvidia 256 meg high-end card.  Personally I feel that I’ll be able to play on my existing Dell notebook since it handles Battlefield 2 without a hitch

Rants

• Too many people punish for accidental teamkills
• Moving titans typically causes server lag
• When you customize a profile for a specific class, the settings aren’t saved
• Wish you could undo an unlock

Raves

• Realistic gameplay and cool new vehicles
• The multiple types of gameplay are nice
• The new interface for unlocks
• The new weapons

Anyway….get out and play this great game!

I’ve been playing BF2142 for several days now and like the change in vehicles and weapons, but actually miss a few things from BF2.

It’s the same struggle as with any new game - you always get noobs who take a great deal of heat from the more experienced players.
I’ve been trying to help the noobs out as much as possible, which is received well by some and not by others.
The one MAJOR issue is that there’s no mediation for a teamkill punish - this is probably the one area that needs serious improvement.
There are people that walk in front of your vehicle ON PURPOSE for the pleasure of being able to punish you - this crap needs to stop!

Have you played with the Titan’s defense system?  Geez….it’s almost too easy to take out people and vehicles.  I even knocked out a helicopter!

Get online and play this great game!  I have to travel this week, but plan on playing BF2142 on my laptop.
